Quality Assurance in EURASHE’s Policymaking (2005–2015)
This article clarifies the long standing commitment and present involvement of EURASHE in European quality assurance (QA). EURASHE has been deeply involved in QA through the Bologna Process as the voice of professional higher education. The profile and missions of its member institutions makes EURASHE look at quality assurance in a distinctive way. The article gives an insight into how EURASHE’s latest QA position paper (2014) relates to trends and evolutions in this area. Starting from a shared definition of professional higher education and its quality features, the article centres around four axes, which reflect current trends in QA, and it underpins these with recommendations to policymakers, higher education institutions and stakeholders, as formulated in the EURASHE policy paper 2014. Finally, the article considers the items for which EURASHE takes specific responsibility due to the fact that these are especially concerned with professional higher education. |
